10 Things to Do in Chocolate Ville Bangkok (That You Don’t Want to Miss)

by Ima & Saan | Last updated Aug 9, 2026

Chocolate Ville caught us off guard. We walked in expecting a cute restaurant. We walked out wondering why nobody told us about this place sooner.

If you've already decided to go (good call), the next question is obvious. What do you actually do once you're there? Because trust us, it's way more than just dinner.

Here's everything worth doing, from the iconic spots everyone talks about to the little moments most people walk right past.

1. Soak In the River View

The river running through Chocolate Ville isn't just a backdrop. It's kind of the heart of the whole place.

During the day, the water is calm and you'll see ducks and swans gliding around. It's peaceful. But as the sun sets, the river transforms. The fairy lights switch on, the buildings start glowing, and the water reflects all of it like a mirror. Then the boat parades start drifting by and the whole scene looks like something out of a movie.

Find a spot along the riverbank during golden hour. Grab a drink. Just watch the place slowly shift from a charming daytime village into a magical evening wonderland. It's one of those moments you remember longer than you'd expect.

2. Wander Through the Garden of Romance

Tucked away from the busier parts of the park, the Garden of Romance is a quieter little pocket filled with flowers, soft lighting, and benches in cozy corners. People compare it to something out of Alice in Wonderland, and honestly that's not far off.

If you're there with someone special, this is your spot. It's made for slow walks and couple photos without a crowd photobombing every shot. The soft lighting at night makes everything look dreamy.

Even if you're not on a date, it's worth passing through. After the energy of the main village, the Garden feels like a reset. Quiet. Pretty. A nice breather before you dive back into the action.

3. Take Photos at Every Single Corner

We're not exaggerating. Every corner. Every wall. Every little alleyway.

Chocolate Ville is designed to be photographed. The lit-up letter signs. The decorated trees. The cobblestone paths with European-style facades on either side. The windmill. The lighthouse towering over the rooftops. The pastel-colored buildings with arched windows and wrought-iron balconies.

A few spots that hit especially hard: the pink Lagoon Bridge over the water, the Waterfront Glasshouse with its heart-shaped entrance that glows at night, the all-white Bell House, and the Telephone Booth stuffed with roses and dahlias. There's also Fantasy World, which has a castle front with a twirling ballerina on top.

Your camera roll will fill up fast. Bring a power bank. Your phone battery will not survive this place.

4. Catch the Boat Parades on the River

This is probably the signature Chocolate Ville experience. Costumed characters float by on themed boats while music plays and lights bounce off the water. Sometimes there's a little fireworks moment thrown in.

The LED boat drifting across the lake is part of the daily evening show, and it's genuinely mesmerizing. There's something about watching it all unfold from the riverbank with popcorn in hand that makes you forget you're in Bangkok for a minute.

Pro tip: if you can snag a waterside table at the restaurant, you get front-row seats while you eat. That's the move.

5. Meet the Mascots and Watch Them Perform

The mascots at Chocolate Ville are not your typical theme park greeters who just stand there and wave. These characters dance, flip, spin, and put on full-blown performances. People describe it as feeling like a dance party with mascots, and honestly that's pretty accurate.

They stroll through the village posing for photos throughout the day, but the real magic happens during the scheduled mascot shows, especially on weekends. Dancing bears, gorillas, costumed characters doing choreographed routines. Kids go absolutely wild, and adults end up cheering right alongside them.

If you spot one wandering down a cobblestone path, stop and say hi. They're great with kids and always up for a photo.

6. Find the Waterfall

There's a waterfall area that a lot of visitors seem to wander past without really stopping. Don't be one of them.

The sound of the water mixed with the background music gives the whole area this calm, almost meditative feel. It's a great photo spot during the day when you can catch the water reflecting the light, and it's equally beautiful at night when the whole thing is lit up.

It's one of those spots where you just stand there for a minute and think, "Okay, this place is something else."

7. Pose With the Vintage Cars and Old-School Boats

Scattered around the park, you'll find these cool retro cars and boats set up as photo spots. We sat in a bright purple convertible with a giant teddy bear in the passenger seat. It looked ridiculous in the best way.

There are also old-school boats near the water that give off that "we're on a European canal" energy. They're props, but they're done so well that every single person stops for a photo. You will too. Don't fight it.

These little details are what set Chocolate Ville apart from a regular restaurant. The whole place is built to make you smile and pull out your camera.

8. Check What Festival Is On Before You Go

Here's the thing about Chocolate Ville that a lot of first-timers don't realize. They change up the themes and decorations throughout the entire year. So your visit will look completely different depending on when you go.

We went during the Christmas days and it was crazy. The whole park was decked out for their Christmas Wonderland event. Snow shows, Santa boat parades, giant Christmas trees, LED performances on peak nights. The works. It felt like someone had dropped a European Christmas village into the middle of Bangkok.

But Christmas is just one of them. They do Halloween with themed parades and spooky decorations. Valentine's Day gets the romantic treatment. New Year brings its own lineup. And even outside the big holidays, they're constantly rotating smaller themes and setups throughout the seasons.

The point is, check their Facebook page before you visit. That's where they post the current schedule and event details. If you time it right and land on a festival week, the experience goes from great to unforgettable.

9. Have a Proper Dinner at the Restaurant

Here's what a lot of people don't expect. Chocolate Ville isn't just a theme park with a food stall tucked in the corner. It's actually a full-blown restaurant with all the bells and whistles.

The menu is massive. Thai classics like green papaya salad and hot and sour shrimp soup sit alongside Western dishes like German ham hock, Australian tenderloin steak, pasta, and pizza. There are seafood options, kid-friendly picks like cheese quesadillas, and enough variety to keep everyone at the table happy.

You're free to choose where to sit. Indoor, outdoor, or riverside. We'd go riverside every time. Watching the boat parade drift by while you eat dinner? That's the experience.

Fair warning on prices though. This isn't street food. Mains run around 165 to 180 THB, and the bills come with VAT and service charges ("plus plus") added on top. A bucket of ice can cost 60 THB extra. For a family of three having dinner, we spent around 968 THB total. So budget accordingly, but the food is genuinely good. We're still thinking about that pizza.

10. Play With the Giant Teddy Bears

They're everywhere. And we mean giant.

There's one bear that's literally taller than most people. You can stand next to it, hug it, climb on the smaller ones, sit with them in the vintage cars. Kids go absolutely wild for them, but honestly, adults do too. Nobody's judging.

They're scattered all around the park in different spots, so you keep running into them as you explore. Each one is a photo opportunity waiting to happen. But beyond the photos, they also just add to this feeling that the whole place doesn't take itself too seriously. It's playful. It's fun. And sometimes that's exactly what you need.

Before You Go: The Quick Practical Stuff

Entry fee: 150 to 180 THB per person, depending on the day. Kids under 5 get in free.

Your ticket comes with a coupon. Use it for popcorn, ice cream, or bottled water at participating booths. Or knock 100 THB off your restaurant bill. You can stack multiple coupons on one bill.

Tickets are only sold at the entrance. No online option. Just show up.

Hours: Weekdays 3 PM to midnight. Weekends 2 PM to midnight.

Getting there: Skip driving. Parking is a headache. Grab a taxi or use a ride-hailing app. From central Bangkok it takes about 30 to 45 minutes and costs around 200 to 400 THB.

Best day to go: Weekdays are way less crowded. Weekends and holidays get packed.

How long to spend: Plan for at least 3 hours. But if you come in the afternoon and stay through the night, you'll easily spend 4 to 5 hours without getting bored.

Photo rules: No flash, no tripods, no commercial shoots.

Chocolate Ville is one of those places that doesn't fit neatly into any category. It's not a theme park. It's not just a restaurant. It's this weird, wonderful, charming thing that exists somewhere in between.

And honestly? That's exactly why it works.
